ideas for a short seated meditation
Hey everyone
I'm trying to come up with some ideas for a short (about 5 min) seated breath awareness/meditation. I've had the students sit and focus on their breath for a few times and I don't want to keep saying the same things. Eg. focus on your breath, the way it feels as it moves through your body, etc. Any other ideas???

How about the Moving Hands Meditation that David taught us this Summer?
Moving Hands Meditation
Sit comfortably so breath can move freely.
Start with hands palms down on thighs.
Slowly move right hand up to the heart centre.
Slowly move right hand back to the thigh.
Repeat with the left hand.
Slowly move right hand to heart centre.
Slowly move left hand over the right hand.
Slowly return the left hand to the left thigh.
Slowly return the right hand to the right thigh.
Repeat from start.

Re: ideas for a short seated meditation
the technique you use should reflect the reason you are having them sit. why do you want to introduce them to meditation? have they inquired about it? if not - why are you introducing it? Is there something you think they have to gain from it? what is that thing?
